Eric Phillips Head Coach Eric started running after High School, but didn\'t run in his first race until he was 40! Since then, he has completed six marathons (Washington DC, Richmond, Marine Corps, Chicago and the \'06 and \'07 Boston Marathons) In addition, Eric has completed several half marathons and 5K\'s, 8K\'s, 10K\'s. In 2007, Eric earned his coaching certifications from USA Track & Field and Road Runners Club of America, as well as CPR and First Aid certifications. Eric often asks, “Why are you running this year?” We all know why the elites run. They actually have a chance to win, but what about the rest of us? I recently read that just over 400,000 people signed up for marathons in 2007, and most of them had very little chance of actually winning their race. Those are the runners that interest me the most. Those of us who are out there achieving a major life goal, a new PR or just trying to get to the finish line so they can say they\'ve done so. Eric is looking forward to meeting more runners from around the Metro area, and working with Jim and the rest of the DCFIT team to help YOU get across the finish line in 2008! | |
